Dumbing down important topics again.

Why do it ? The general public can of course understand when something is demonstrated to them in a clear fashion, so why use this one trick pony to hand out self-opinion as key lessons in linguistic anthropology ?

Jonathan Miller (CBE) would have been a far better choice. If that might seem highbrow or Miller's work schedule was full, Brian Blessed could have been bunged a few extra quid and it would still have worked. Hell, Even Justin Fletcher could have delivered the points raised in 'Babel' in easily understandable chunks to the masses, providing the signing to boot (and saving wages for the early hour edition).

As a friend quipped down the pub last night, Fry is certainly no ****ing Brownowski.

Last Chance To See should have been the wake up call.

Are you suggesting that Fry is "dumbing down"? Or that he's a "one-trick pony"? He's an actor, author, playwright, journalist, poet, comedian and improviser? He went to Cambridge. I won't even bother with listing his film and television credits. I find him incredibly witty and interesting.

Also, who gives a turd about a CBE? And it's "Bronowski," not "Brownowski."
