Problem with preppers

The problem with these people they are only preparing for one scenario like a biological attack but what happens if it is something else then they are screwed anyways as they are only preparing for one thing as the show tells each of there story's of how they think the world will end.

Most of their bunkers would end up as tombs. Saves effort for any actual survivors, though.

For what prepping I DO do (I can't afford the extra expense at the moment) I don't plan for one particular thing. It's more of a generalized SHTF. It could be ANYTHING down the road where you need to be self reliant.

Here's a question, btw I agree SOME things are silly about some of the people/families. But do you honestly think that prepping was a bad idea during Hurricane Sandy? I don't know about you, but if my house survived I would be VERY happy that I had prepared with supplies to live off of for awhile. Some let it take over their lives and that's a bad thing.

But preppering for a Natural Disaster that has more than a 50% chance of actually happening is one thing.. But most of the criticism is towards the Hardcore Preppers that have stockpiled weapons, ammo, and 25 year supply of Wise MRE's (That crap is not cheap, 1'500 Dollars for a year supply.)and building Bunkers for something that has a .01% chance of happening.

i actually believe, for the most part, that its the production company 'hints' at what the people are prepping for; it's seemingly always the same 4 or 5 disasters that everyone is prepping for.

These scenarios, I'm not slogging through them, if an asteroid came down and caused an extinction event, I'm fine going; if weaponized small pox came through at wiped out most of the population, hope I get it first, if the poles flip, if there is some sort of economic collapse on the scale they think is happening (seriously, how the f is that going to happen? the chinese stop buying our debt and in 12 hours we've become cannibals?).

I'm not wasting my time to try to be one of a handful of survivors that end up in mortal combat with each other. I have some water, first aid kits etc put aside, if those don't get me through the disaster i'm fine perishing. I'm going to spend my money on a ps4 and buy a new car, I don't need to amass a small armory or build a tank out of a silverado.

Yeah, just cause I like playing Fallout 3; doesnt mean I want to live Fallout 3. If any of those .01% "What if!?" scenarios happen I'm fine dying off, I am not going to fight it kicking and screaming.

Or what if they were right?
Either way, merely bothering to prep makes them better prepared then the sheeple yokels that just want to point and laugh, and then go back to drooling in front of the TV with a bag of Cheetos's

That's the theory behind prepping for zombies. Sounds stupid but its so general that you should be good for everything. Food, weapons, secure location, bug out location etc. Its broad and general. Not to mention adding some fun to it.
