I know a lot of people already thought this show was over the top but I found it rather informative. This season it seems like it is steering away on how the preppers are able to store, collect, etc. Now, it's just about their over the top home made devices such as school buses, tanks. It is just stupid now.

shareI agree as well. To me it's made the show less enjoyable. I like joking on some of the more out there things too, but when the focus of the episode is some gimmick. It feels like the show has been divorced from its premise, and is not taking itself seriously.
The subjects aren't funny enough to be funny in this new format. And what episodes I do enjoy, I enjoy in spite of the new presentation.
Next step for Doomsday Preppers is probably to let the prepper families compete against each other.

Hahaa perfect...
what made this series great (in the beginning) was that it was not a "reality" tv show it was in fact about "real people" no matter how weird they were. now its gone the classic "dumb it down" path.. simply cashing in on a good idea with lazy production. blahhhh..
I could be wrong, I haven't watched a whole lot of the show, but I get a feeling that some of these people are really just actors. Characters made up for the show. There was one episode i saw where the guy was pretend attacking his little girl (12 years or so) with a gun to see how she'd react.
I thought he just seemed to practiced at speaking to a camera. He was really sort of selling a message. he didn't seem to be just a strange guy trying to explain himself.
Some of them seem like real (but crazy) people, so maybe they just pad things out with a few actors.
Totally agree. I like the prepping survivalist stuff but the way they present it just makes it ridiculous. I mean what purpose does a shuriken catapult really have? They have people do stupid things, run childish useless drills and built *beep* that has nothing to do with prepping.
And what's worse is that they focus so much on the most ridiculous thing! Their stories... I mean fine it's part of their reasoning. But why explain a faraday cage EVERY episode. Or the whole stupid ridiculous backstory of their particular farfetched nightmare. It's like half the show is focused on conspiracy *beep*
What a shame.
