Why does every character shout?

I don't care about the dated animation. Big deal.

- but every single line of the entire movie is delivered with over-the-top emphasis. It's like they all were trying too hard. They weren't talking with each other, they were all talking AT each other. So bloody annoying.

If you close you eyes and just LISTEN to this movie, it's almost like nails on a chalkboard
