The little kids in this movie look like....

... mini Hiccups and Astrids..... did they reproduce, too??

I know they made little models of them for the first movie, back when they were originally going to be that age, but scrapped that whole idea & made them older. Hahahaha it's just so obvious in this movie that they're using them.

I take it you bought The Art of How to Train Your Dragon or something? I had no idea they had models of Hiccup and Astrid as little kids. Sounds quite adorable! However, some of the children in GotNF had different colored eyes and hair than our hero and heroine. At least, that's what I noticed.

I don't have the book, but I want it so damn bad!!

I just know the original idea for the movie was going to be closer to the books, and the main characters were younger kids. But before that idea was scrapped, they had already made models of little Hiccup and Astrid (same thing with the terrible terror, it was going to be Toothless). Because making those models is pretty expensive & they didn't want to put them to waste, you can see little Hiccup and Astrid in the movie with the Elder viking in the scene where they're leaving for the dragon's nest with a captured Toothless. Their hair colors are swapped for obvious reasons, and I guess they tweaked them a little more for GotNF. But they still don't fool me. :)

If you are willing to fork over the money, you can buy one as cheap as 21 bucks on Amazon.

I might just buy one of those myself. I don't own any HTTYD stuff other than this awesome sticker book that a family member bought for me (it apparently was only a buck)

Yesterday I was scourging though the HTTYD news articles posted here on IMDB, which I'm apt to do when I have time on my hands, and I came across this absolute gem:

http://www.imdb.com/news/ni0238181/

My brother said it perfectly when i posted this article to his facebook page:

"It's really like the Onion News Network did a story on HTTYD! Anyway, thank GAWD (or Thor, your choice) that Peter Hastings didn't direct it. Lord/Thor knows what would have happened if he did."

Toothless as a terrible terror would have been a disaster compared to the magical beast DeBlois and Sanders created.

I honestly can't say I noticed that. I'll be paying attention the next time i watch the movie. It seemed like the kids were obsolete in the original movie, and while they were obviously noticeable in GotNF, I just didn't recognize them as the models of little Hiccup and little Astrid. But hell, they were adorable all the same!
