Tim, Brad, Lance, Michael, and Sean, have fallen far and hard

We should have a charity event to make sure that those who have seen better days ... and most certainly better movies ... should not have to degrade themselves in things like this ever again.

I honestly doubt they truly knew what they were signing up for. No way did they receive a full script... probably just their lines and a bag of cash.

This movie is everything that is wrong in movies today. You'll say "no, the problem is the lack of creativity that results from studios that are afraid to take risks because the budgets are so high they can not afford to take chances anymore. Big money and fear of risks equals big budget remakes stripped of all their uniqueness. There is a generation of young adults now that think movies means eyecandy only, and whose motion picture experience consists completely of one big blur of similar-looking crap!" And I will say, "No, that was five years ago. It's worse now".

And why is it worse now? Because now the low budget indie movies are doing it too! Hollywood had been crap for so long, the movie makers of the future grew up with it and think this is what movies look like! What hollywood is doing with remakes, they're doing with stars past their prime. Sure, they don't have the budgets, but that just means they can worry less about making it back. So their target audience does not need to be teenagers (PG-13 crowd), they can make crap that gets rated R and let the cult celebrity name take care of getting the asses in the seats (or the creditcard numbers in the on-demand service).

It's such a cynical cash grab, the focus is on getting more money out of it than they put in, entertainment isn't even an issue anymore. Gingerclown is a perfect example. You can forgive young filmmakers for making mistakes - indie movies used to be a stepping stone, the filmmakers could show what they loved and what they wanted to share, even if they did not yet know where their true talents lay (or even if they had any talent at all), the enthusiasm made for some nice movies, and some barely tolerable ones. And a load of crap, obviously. But this, Gingerclown... there is no enthusiasm. The makers thought they knew where the audience wanted and tricked them into thinking that was what they were offering. No better than The Asylum. There is no ambition here, no real wish to entertain, not even an effort to at least try to give some value for money. They wanted our money, and they got it. Not as much as a hollywood production would get, but the investment was much lower too, and not too many people to share it with. But they got it.

Damn you to hell, Gingerclown-makers!

I'm kind of watching it on chiller right now. a paycheck is a paycheck. a picky actor is an out of work actor.
