Could've been great (SPOILERS)

The deaths were pointless. I'm assuming she died as well because of the puncture wound to the foot.

The movie had. great vibe of fun and drama but, just as it geared up, with the misunderstanding of each sacrificing their own happiness for the other, it fizzled out to this anti-climax of him falling off the wall and dying for no good reason.
