I agree, however this is not just a haunted house horror movie. The horror factor in this movie is nothing else then the reality of the today's world: The mass bankruptcy of the common middle class due to the Canibalism, sorry, Capitalism of the modern world. In this light, those ghosts are nothing else than just "The ghosts of capitalism" - or so I see it.

So, they used the common Thai export material-Horror and used it to show the world the everyday problems of the common people in the region.
