Offbeat but solid

Surprised to see that the director was Todd Louiso from High Fidelity and Jerry Maguire... so impressed to see him doing more good work and even behind the camera. This film sneaks up on you like most indie's and that made for a pleasant experience. I didn't think I was going to like it but by the end I was really moved. Watched it a second time and am glad the kid from HBO's Girls is branching out with thoughtful material like this. But Melanie Lynskey has to be the celebrated center talent to applaud, as I haven't seen her in anything so interesting for a while. Detroit Rock City and The Perks of Being a Wallflower featured Melanie and I enjoyed both, but this is really a showcase for her. She's pretty great.

Agreed! I also thought there was major chemistry. Well acted and great direction.
