The father (***MAJOR SPOILERS***)
The father was always in the daughter's corner. Why did he cut her off at the end? Was it just that she risked his big deal, or was it that by doing so, he felt that she betrayed him in a way that he couldn't forgive? I got the impression that the deal went through, and he had the opportunity to retire, but chose not to, (probably because some people see their job as their identity, and can't give it up, even though they tell people they want to retire). Did I get that wrong? Did the daughter screw it up, forcing the father to continue working? It's hard to believe that he would support her through all her troubles, only to flip a switch like that. Thoughts?
