From the Beginning Start Again

If a book or a script is bad you have to goi back to the very beginning and almost start from scratch. Here this film lost me at the very beginning as I watched them transport a high priority prisoner and his family from a base through a very dangerous area by auto mobile while those who seemingly came for that prisoner to kidnap him strangely had a helicopter (albeit a civilian one) which at least was plausible for the kidnappers though it caused me to ask why these government types did not have air support.

Tortured in the constant feed of action BS after seeing most of the film I fast forward skimmed through rest as it got to me and wore me out as bad.

As a mainly Chinese film for Chinese consumption one has to consider the politics of making such a film involving Hong Kong, China and the West where I can safely feel this was convoluted in serving the interests of the modern police state where the threat posed was release of a viral pathogen that threatened hundreds of millions in China, but which incorporated elements of terrorism in the Middle East and Holy Cow Bat Man included the Evil White Guy Arms trafficker minus (sans) the dialogue and humor of a so so Nicholas Cage.

Generally I am tempted to give this one a rating of minimum one but feel rating it instead a 3 with this criticism will suffice as a beat down for what is a bad film which seems to have been rushed through production for reasons other than artist aesthetic ones.

agree. pretty bad plot. it's unbelievable with the chaos they can get away with.
