Ridiculous, unrealistically helpless victims ruin the movie.

In segment 2 the two girls just kind of throw themselves at the guy who's keeping them prisoner (and doing a terrible job of it) but they never actually try to injure him, they just kind of flail around. Then he throws them to the ground and they just cry. That's it. That's their attempt at resisting someone that they think is planning to MURDER THEM.

Hey, girls? There's a bunch of loose wood on the walls. I bet you could pry off a piece of that. Stand next to the door and hit him in the head when he comes in. Can't get a piece of wood loose? Okay, at least kick him, punch him, claw his face. Doesn't take a lot of planning or sophistication to think of this. He's doing basically nothing to restrain you. And it's not like they never have time to come up with a plan like this, he leaves them locked up for a really long time without monitoring them.

And I know somebody is going to point out that they're young, they're women...that's BS. When you're scared, you will fight like crazy no matter who you are. In fact, the extent to which unlikely, seemingly helpless people's survival instincts kick in has provided some of the most dramatic, engaging moments in GOOD horror movies.

But this? I'm watching this thinking "Well, it's a good thing this guy kidnapped and murdered them, they clearly had no interest in living."
