Willing to give it another shot...

Badlands, The Thin Red Line, The New World, and Tree of Life all took my breath away. To the Wonder, not so much and I kind of really hated Knight of Cups. But this new trailer and the energy have me feeling somewhat optimistic. Some inklings of a plot at least.

I thought I read somewhere that this would be more "traditional" and closer in style to Badlands...again with two lovers who happen to be drifters. Maybe I'm confusing this with another Malick project on the backburner. But I was very surprised to see Song to Song filmed in the exact same way To The Wonder/Knight of Cups were.

While I enjoyed To The Wonder and Knight of Cups (not as powerful as Tree of Life but still compelling Malick imo), I was hoping for a change of style, which I know Malick is capable of.

He does have another WWII movie starring Michael Fassbender called Radegund (2017). That one could be interesting and has a different cinematographer.

Ah, that's true. Same cinematographer and everything too. I don't dislike the style (in fact it's really gorgeous), but I was hoping for a change of pace. Looks like Radegund might be it.

I made a mistake earlier and turns out Michael Fassbender has nothing to do with the next movie. Don't know why I thought that. Must've been late at night when I typed that. Seeing double Fassbenders everywhere.
