Monster movie without monsters

That was the biggest problem with this movie. I supposed that's one reason why they made it a found footage movie. In order to justify not seeing the monster except for one brief flash in the middle and at the end of the movie. The girl holding the camera is never in a place where she can get a good look at it. All we see are people running off into the dark and coming back bloodied, or the girl running around with her group while the monster shrieks in the distance.

Some movies have gotten away with not showing much, like the Blair Witch, but that relied on plenty of backwoods atmosphere and the gathering terror of the college students making a documentary as they realize that the witch is real!

I think with a monster movie, you really do need to let us see the monster. Even the traditional, cheap guy in a rubber suit would have been better.

You're delusional. This film shows plenty. Plus it has a great ending.
