Brian who is the boyfriend of the main character Alex has been with her for 2 years but in that time they have not had sex. I watched the whole movie and I can't remember her saying why not. It's not as if she is a religious fanatic because she goes to night clubs and drinks alcohol. This personality trait of the main character came across as unrealistic.

Could have been some unspoken childhood trauma or assault preventing her from wanting to seal the deal. Obviously she wasn't overly religious. A bobble head Jesus??
