Fantastic movie and next in line to Kung Fury

Yep, this is in the same vein as Kung Fury. Made purposely to be bad, but entertaining nearly every second of the way through.

Manborg is bad ass. He's bad ass because he's not really skilled or good at anything. He just wins by accident. The supporting characters are the ones who truly kick ass (and are every bit as funny) as well. I loved the cheesy special effects and the dialogue is so bad that it's really comical.

This is a good example of what the AVGN movie tried to be, but that one instead just came off entirely boring. This one just nailed it, and was a nice throwback to several movies of the past. Some parts remind me of Arena (1989) while others where pulled from Robocop and even some stuff from Blade Runner. There's un doubtfully some House (1977) mixed in there with some of the anime-action scenes. Those elements never come off as good as where they originated, butt to see them all together in a single movie is indeed a feat to behold.

I gave this one an 8/10 because the entertainment was just solid and it clearly surprised the mark.

The only thing I wonder is why they played the music score throughout the movie at such low volumes. I think there is a very competent score here, I just don't understand why they didn't turn it up a bit more so it can be enjoyed! Listen for it next time, it's there! There is good atmosphere in this movie, but the music would have just added to it a bit more if it was more audible.

Keep watching it through the end because there's an absolutely hilarious short called "Bio Cop". I would give anything for them to actually make that into a full length film. I's hilariously stupid.

Watch this one with friends and keep the beers rolling. You will be pleasantly surprised and entertained throughout. No part of the movie was actually boring, either!
