Loved the scenes with Old-Young President Aylwin

i liked this movie, well done, but i specially liked the scene with President Patricio Aylwin (Pinochet successor) who is now like 90 years old, walking into a set to film a scene for the NO campaign, and as soon as he sits on his chair, the camera goes out of focus and into a monitor where we see him younger as he was in the eighties giving his real life speech against pinochet

The same was done with the news anchor Patricio Bañados, he's being explained how to speak on the campaign and he's old, but when the campaign is shown is the real video of him younger! LOL, i thought it was awesome to see

I wondered about those parts. Not being familiar with all of the historical persons represented I wasnt sure if that was a goof, or intentional to make it more "80's" on purpose.

I noticed that too, and I figured they were using the real people in the movie before moving into the '80s videos. It was good to see this confirmed. I too thought it was an excellent touch, lucky for them the men were still alive. I wonder how they felt being part of this movie.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

i havent seen interviews with President Aylwin, he's a very frail old man by now and rarely makes any appearances on TV here in Chile

But he's pretty legendary in chilean culture, he had to reinstate democracy in the country after 16 years of dictatorship and do it with the ever present shadow of pinochet, i was a kid at that time but i remember that it was a tense period, pinochet was like "you take one step to bring chile back into communism and i coup d'etat you out of the government in a second"

There's a couple more of these great moments where the original footage is edited with footage of the real people more than 20 years later:

- The No "dancer" on the bridge.

- The jingle singers

- Flor Motuda, the eccentric looking singer with the presidential band around him.
