very stupid decision at the ending

so after all the craziness he went through he still didn't have to kill anyone, actually the most evil thing he did was probably making the kid cry, and yet he won the game anyways and got the money, the way he went through the missions that required killing someone almost felt like cheating considering that everyone who played the game has actually committed murder knowingly and with full consent. he walked out of all this somehow innocent, not in the eyes of the law of course but morally he didn't do anything that would score very high on a scale of whats considered evil, not only that but also the cop assured that no one was going to look for him so even breaking the law didn't matter, now i know he was being all emotional but lets just think about this, he committed murder for the first time in his life (killing his brother was self defense), he lost all the money, he pissed off the game makers and killed the guy responsible for covering up everything he did so now not only he might end up in jail but also his life might be in danger if the game makers considered him as a liability, now why risk all this just to kill a replaceable guy, its not like killing him will stop the game, he just made his life miserable again but now even worse, this ending just bugged me so much
