People making these shows take note

That it's not called the Will Rogers Highway because Will Rogers went west upon it to seek his fame and fortune. Will Rogers already was famous when Route 66 was built. He'd been acting for years and had made 40 or so movies by the time it opened, had a radio show, a newspaper column and a tremendously successful vaudeville cowboy show that got him his movie career in the first place. He'd travelled the world as an unofficial US ambassador.

Basic journalism people, make sure you do some before spouting crap to camera. Both Billy Connolly and Henry Cole have repeated this bizarre claim in their shows and it's simply wrong.
