Has anyone in real life attempted the Osaki 8?

Thought this was a terrible movie with a half baked buddhist concept behind the plot, but wondered if anyone had actually attempted this Osaki 8 thing in real life? I can't quite recall what all 8 of them were, but I would be more interested in following someone attempt them in reality than in this weak movie.

Found this link while looking up the list of the 8 ordeals.

To sum it up, you would need a lot of experience and skill and even then you would most likely die while attempting it.

If you somehow completed all of them, I'm not quite sure what you would even get out of all of it. You would be experiencing a lot of impressive natural wonders and in a way that would make you appreciate them in a very intimate way (especially risking your life to climb a cliff without safety gear), but I don't think you would get much out of it other than that and a lot of expensive bills to pay for all the training and gear. If you had that much time and money you would probably be better off taking an awesome trip around the world to see things in a more casual and less expensive manner.

Actually after looking at all of them it does seem a little more feasible to me that someone could pull it off. The rapids in the Congo (the first one that they don't really show in the movie) actually sounds like it might be the most dangerous. All the other ones (big wave surfing, skydiving, snowboarding) all seem like they could be achieved as long as whoever was trying put in the necessary training.

You could also die attempting any one of them, but the movie promised Nirvana if you could do all 8! If that were actually the case I might give it a shot.

What? My point was that it would be very expensive to attempt the Eight, which rules out most people from even being able to try. If you cant afford to do something, you dont have the luxury of doing it and just ignoring the cost.

There's no Osaki 8, they thought it up for this film. Considering the film is a piece of garbage, I doubt it will inspire anybody.

Even if it was something just made up for the movie, I'd rather see someone attempt all the feats in real life. Also I don't think these extreme athlete bro's need much more inspiration than a bad action movie reboot.

If someone did this in real life it would be treated the same way as the idiots that climb sky are selfies and do stupid stuff like that. It's cool for the two mins you watch it then you forget about it instantly. Thanks for riskin your life kid for that two min of joy on YouTube I had

I completely agree. A two minute youtube clip of someone doing all of these stunts in real life would be better than this movie. Somebody do all 8 and post the youtube vid here please.

still wishing someone would attempt this in reality

Have all of these things even been done if not by one person?

People have free climbed cliffs and snowboarded down mountains.

I don't think anyone has skydived into a cave though.
