I suppose I'll have to be the first to rag on this show...

I'm honestly surprised the boards have been so generous with its reviews. I'm 3 episodes in, and there is almost nothing to redeem this show. It is incredibly BORING. Nothing bloody happens and the show is practically an hour long.

I didn't go into it expecting the next coming of Peep Show at all. It's just honestly very hard to tell what sort of 'comedy' this show is going for, because there is very little humor so far, and most of it has fallen flat. It is embarrassing to see Robert Webb play such a pathetic and frankly useless character who's wasting screen time.

Joe Thomas has either become totally typecast, or is showing that he has no acting range at all. He's the exact same dorky kid he was in Inbetweeners, but at least there he was funny. He just looks confused all the time, squinting his eyes like he forgot his lines. Vod, the smart girl and Jack Whitehall's characters are OK, and possibly the only ones to maybe show some development.

I was going to reserve judgement on this until the series ended, but we're in halfway through and in my opinion, there's been very little of what could be called 'entertainment'. So far it's just been a very dull, PG-rated mishmash of Inbetweeners, Skins and Pulling.

I'll keep watching, as the most recent episode showed some signs of plot development (smart girl bangs her prof) but the dialogue is still very poor, and it's hard to think that it's from the same guys who's been providing us with gems from Mark, Jez, Johnson, Dobby and Superhans for years now.

I was quite disappointed especially with Ep3.

The only problem I'm having is that it's sort of become the "Joe and Kimberley Programme" at times, what with the ongoing drama between the two.

However, from what I gathered just by glancing at the IMDb page, apparently it's not even a comedy: it's labeled strictly as a drama. In that sense, it's one step ahead in that it has provided me with some good belly laughs for being a drama.

Is it cliched? Yeah, it is. Could it be considered a rehash of shows before that? Of course. However, I find that to be standard of most work in most media. No show is really "original," rather just a writer/writing team's spin on what we've seen before. A lot of things become cliche because they're based around experiences that usually happen to enough people that they become so.

I guess you can call it an average E4 teen show... but it's still an entertaining enough a watch for me.

Ep. 3 was not as great, but had a few funny bits.

Think it's been something like this so far...

Ep. 1 - 8/10
Ep. 2 - 7/10
Ep. 3 - 5/10

Hope the next one picks up where it started.

i've found it pretty poor as well. JP's the stand out. the rest of them are meh

I agree, it's worth saying, there's a lot about this that doesn't sit quite right or there's plot holes, underdeveloped characters etc.

However, on the plus side, there was Josie in her bedroom gear who looked ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. I actually felt a little flutter in my heart (pants) like I'd just fallen in love. I'm completely besotted and if I were Kingsley let me tell you there'd be no awkward conversations and no problem finishing the job. In fact Kingsley is supposed to be a virgin and had TWO stunning women in one night, but couldn't finish the job? Every bloke's dream - what's with the frowning???

JP and Howard are funny together. Howard is probably the best character, loads of potential.

Not liking the storyline with Oregon and her tutor, just doesn't seem to deserve to be used like that. Plus I'm jealous.

Josie in that nightie ... I'll drink to that!

It seems Oregon is doomed to have "the one that bonks her tutor" as her main character trait. It does seem a waste of the character; in the early episodes, I liked how she was so insecure about being smart and privileged compared to her more normal flatmates and Vod in particular, but in the last two episodes, all her scenes have been taken up by the tutor subplot. It's just a very limiting plotline because your only possible reaction is "ewww" (and "lucky b@stard!").

I like Howard the best too. I thought he was a bit overplayed at first, but in the last two episodes he's had some great subplots as they pair him up with different characters.
