Protest episode - best so far for me
Really liked this episode. Didn't expect them to do the protests though. Looking forward to next week's!
Also, anyone else at the protests?
It's in the frakkin' ship!

You got me a bit upset for a moment lol, only really good thing on tv!!
shareIts an 8 episode series, so has at least 2 more, with the dvd being released in the UK on 21st November. Go onto channel4.com and search fresh meat, the site will tell you when it is next on.
PS: Not on next week (2nd November), but on week after that (9th Nov)

Yeh, liked this one. Vod was much better, character coming through. JP was brilliant, how he kept phoning his mates and ordering a steak etc.
Some good editing as well, with the shots of the real protest intercut in, good style.
I quite like how they pair up characters, Vod and Oregon were funny throwing the blood and then the whole scene where Oregon goes to the hotel room and Vod phones up to check.
The way Howard behaves with his new friend doesn't seem to fit with the style of the humour, I think they could be really nerdy but less immature, nerdy but clever. Got potential though.
Only bit I didn't like was the plot with Kinglsey's drama girlfriend. She may look attractive but behaves like a complete smug a-hole and surely any normal bloke would just drop her and go for Josie? Choice is, up-herself thespie girl with a harp or girl -literally- nextdoor. Hmm.
But I'm liking it, getting better and looks like there's loads of potential for another season, expect it will be recommissioned and there's more to come.

Trying to be both relevant politically while not letting it take over the show... yeah, they did do a great job.
There are only two downsides I can think of to the episode: it introduced two of the worst conflicts possible. Why was Vod as pissed off at Oregon as she was after reading the texts? Why would she immediately threaten to embarrass Oregon? And, as far as Josie's reaction to finding out that Kingsley had lost his virginity a few hours (maybe less) before they had their agreed, contracted sex?
The funny thing is that, in the scheme of that episode, those problems are extremely minor. I just don't like the idea that they'll continue those conflicts and possibly fall into soap opera territory.
"Anyone can hurt anyone. Haven't you realized that?"
