vod!

I freakin love her! "We can eat noodle for a *beep* week!" She's going to be a favourite in the show :-D

Yeah, she's getting some great character development. I love how all the characters in this show learn things from each other -- even though at first it seems like Oregon/Howard/Kingsley are the saddos and Vod/JP/Josie are all cool and sexy, it turns inside out. So the story arc where the first night Vod's copying Oregon's paper and bullying her into writing a new one, but then Vod's thrown out of her comfort zone by the next two episodes and Oregon goes out and does some risky living, and finally OREGON TELLS VOD TO DO HER OWN WORK AND SHE DOES AND SHE LOVES IT ... that right there is how you do parallelism. Lovely.

Her possibly reading a book for the first time was brilliant.

If there's any justice Oregon will teach her how to critically assess a text and then she could end up getting a first, getting a DPhil, getting a book deal, becoming a lecturer, then head of department, and then firing Prof Shale's lousy arse.

To be honest, I think I may be getting a little too invested in her character.

I was hoping that she'd get a really good mark for it , sadly I was wrong I think from that she'll probably not bother anymore now.

Me too. She currently seems to have the brains but not the critical tools to do well. I really hope her character doesn't go down the drop out route.

Oregon's face when she heard the way the Prof spoke to Vod suggests to me that she is begining to realise that the tutor is a git and her hurt over the hotel scenario also suggested that she 'knows' (but can't quite bring herself to admit) that he is using her. She seems desperate to been seen as mature and able to handle everything when she clearly isn't. Hopefully she'll get over her infatuation with him pdq and between the two of them they might be able to teach him a lesson.

I think that Vod and Oregon could end up as really good, true friends (it would certainly be narratively satisfying from my point of view). They both seem like genuinely good people trying to present themselves in a way which they think will stop them being hurt by, or excluded from, the group. To be honest, with the honourable exception of Howard, they all seem to be like that.

reply

I agree actually, and in a lot of ways I really understand Oregon, she is just a confused kid, desperate to be liked, they all are really.
Have to say though I like JP the most, his character is adorable

He definitely arouses my [ahem] protective instincts.

If he could just be confident in himself and stop all the nonsense he'd be lovely.

hahahaha i'll use that excuse as well ;). Never thought i'd ever find Jack Whitehall attractive, but he has proved me wrong

Her attitude doesn't seem to have changed much since her schools days:
