Terrible. Spoilers probably

Did the writers and directors of this movie ever watch a single MMA fight in their entire lives, or did they watch a bit of WWF in the 80's and decide to make an MMA movie? Outside of the first fight, and even that was limited, there was no ground game nor submission attempts in any of the fights. It was basically boxing with a bit of kicking, Not MMA fighting. Not enough kicking to be kickboxing. And too much WWF to be boxing. Then there was a lot of the comical body-slams, hay-makers and charging that everyone dodged every. Single. Time. They do realize fighters don't charge right? And if one is stupid enough to do so, no one dodges it they just throw a knee and win the fight. For a fighting movie, the fighting was some of the worst I've ever seen. And maybe they should have gotten someone that looked like they had actually done a sit-up at some point in their life to play the main bad guy.

And racial slurs from a top athlete in a popular sport? Seriously? This would never fly in the real world. The fighter would be fined, suspended and corrected or dropped from the sport. And they even make a point of mentioning that half their audience is Hispanic about 5 times and yet their prize fighter is using racial slurs on their broadcasts. Did anyone proof read this joke of a script?

Besides the fighting, the plot was ridiculous. I won't spoil too much but in the last 5 or so minutes of the movie, one character gets shot, one dies, one fights and one has surgery. Then, in a 10 second montage, the cops arrest the bad guys, the kid pulls through the surgery after "dying," the fighter wins and the friend is all better. Wow, all so perfect. Oh yea, and somehow he won the fight in 4:59 seconds of the fifth round. Gee, good thing that didn't take 1 second longer or he may not have won.

There is more, but wow, this is one of the worst fighting movies I've ever seen. Skip this and watch something like the undisputed trilogy or Blood and Bone. And lol at the shill in the other post that says this is "just like Rocky only with the Latino element added in." What a joke. Not even close. Rocky is the greatest movie ever made compared to this trash.
