WHAT A COMPLETE TRAIN WRECK

Each minute I didn't think it could get worse, then the next minute came. From start to finish, perhaps the worst award show I've ever seen.

I couldn't agree more - EPIC suck. That memorial was embarrassingly bad. It was like "watch us mourn, aren't we spiffy?" Just play some appropriate music and show us legitimate stars who have passed, not some awful singers wanting to cash in for their 15 minutes. I couldn't BELIEVE they kept cutting back to those losers. The floor fog was a perfect maudlin touch to crappiness. I think of the career and work of some of those who died, and wonder how they would have felt if they knew that is how they would be remembered.

No wonder the ratings for this crap-fest decline annually.

They made a few mistakes - the biggest probably being the "intro" to the "In Memoriam." I had left the bathroom and returned as the singers were approaching the stage - the song choice, camera work and set changes made me instantly assume it was about to be another "parody" routine like the pointless SNL one they did that night.

They should have immediately cut straight to the people they were highlighting and not some singers. I lay no fault on the singers (they did a fine job vocally), but the whole thing just wasn't "right" for the ceremony.

"You've shown your quality sir. The very highest."

I am so glad that I was not the only one disappointed with the "In Memoriam." It used to be that instrumental music was played and we were able to hear the actors talk a little bit in the clip. This time, it was hard to hear anything over the singers. They spent so much time focusing on the singing group that they did leave out some wonderful actors. I am glad that they did recognize John Dye. The singers were very good, but I wish they would have used them in their own segment.

I couldn't agree more, censorshipsucks. I never expect much from the award shows, but this went from bad to cringeworthy to pathetic with lightening speed. The insensitivity of including Captain Phil's (Deadliest Catch) hospital bed scene with the lighthearted "tableau" of reality shows was just sick. My jaw just dropped. Honestly.

The attempts at humor (I can't even call them jokes) could have been written by eight-year-olds. If there was any display of wit at all, I missed it.

But then again, I quit the show about halfway through. Before it got worse. If possible.

Guess someone wanted their name on top because a post was started on this ctopic already.
