Enjoyable movie but too predictable

I don't know, maybe the film wasn't trying to hide the identity of the killers, but I knew right away that it would turn out to be Alex and Nathan . It didn't help that they pretty much gave everything away in the trailer storyline/character/character death wise.

I would have enjoyed a little more mystery and lot more surprises.

Though not as enjoyable as the first two, I did enjoy the film a great deal. And I will be buying it to add to my collection of MSPS16 Parts 1 & 2.

Really? I had it figured out about Alex right from the beginning. Maybe it's because I'm a fan of the modern slasher genre and that's the usual route they go.

Now, see, the killers in Valentine, Sorority Row, Scream 4 and I Know What You Did Last Summer were obvious to me. It was something about them that just instantly got my "spidey senses" tingling.

The other movies, I've never seen. I really need to check them out and see if I figure out the killers in those ones, too.

I completely agree with you, djblack. I suspected Alex going in mainly because of how she acted at the end of MSPS16 Part 2.

And I absolutely agree with you about Nathan. It was entirely too obvious and then they revealed him way too soon.

Of course it was obvious Nathan was the killer the filmmakers never tried to hide it.

But here is the thing DJblack who says slasher movies always have to keep the killer a mystery in a slasher in fact I guess u could consider that pretty cliche like every other movie before it. In fact its kinda refreshing in a odd way they did something where they laid it all out upfront. Maybe not for all movie tastes but I give em cred for not doing it the usual way we've seen 10000000 times before..Remember this series never kept the identity of the killer in any of the movies a secret it was always up front.

I didn't watch the trailer but I knew it would be Alex because of the way she was talking on the phone. At first I thought Nathan was innocent and Alex was just mad at him.
Once Alex said she invited 6 of her closest friends and i only counted 5, I knew her and Nathan were working together.

Agreed. They just made her seem a little too innocent and too victimy (is that even a word?! ).

I agree with the OP/the title of this thread. I haven't watched the 2nd movie but I did watch all the onDemand extras (one of which summarized the first two movies) and saw the trailer and I wasn't surprised about Alex and Nathan being in cahoots. Especially with Alex's monolouge (the one that was in the trailer), and with what I found out about the second movie. What would have been cool is if they made Nathan a red herring and had Alex's grandparents as her partners.

I was actually wondering where they were because I was thinking there was no way Alex lived there by herself. I did find it weird that Nathan was revealed early, but I still liked it. I think if they somehow managed to have maybe one or two more characters and more character develop, then it might have been more surprising...even though the trailer sort of revealed it.
I really did like this one, but I think MSPS16 2 was my favorite.

Some things I found really weird though:
-Everybody said how they had no service out there, yet Alex was able to call Skye clearly

-The cop car seemed to have just drove past the gate and made a U-turn without investigating at all(and not paying attention to their surroundings)

-Not sure if it was impossible or not(probably is possible), but Brynn was hit in the head with a pole pretty badly, then feel in the water face down, and still managed to walk inside of the house

-After Alex basically lured Skye into the woods, she showed up with the scythe in her hands. I was not sure if she drove the car back to get it while Skye was in the woods or not, but regardless she must have done it pretty fast lol

-When Skye was in the chair on the ground and Alex was standing in front of her, she just stood there and let Skye grab the scythe.

Sorry if it seems like a lot, but they just seemed pretty weird to me.

Coming back to this issue with new thoughts.

I recently purchased MSPS16 1 & 2 and after rewatching them I really got to thinking about Part 3.

And the reveal of the killer(s) in 3 really shouldn't have been a surprise to me that they weren't a surprise.

I mean, we knew right off the bat that Charlie was the killer in 1 & 2. So it's not a real surprise to me about the early reveal of Nathan and the unsurprising reveal of Alex.

It did stick with the tradition and feel of the first two flicks.

PS - CANNOT wait for Part 3 to come out on DVD.

stupid and predictalbe movie.
First two movies are good but this is crap, it soon becomes a clear that the killers are alex and nathan, and the last fight between skyler and alex under the rain is ridiculous, is a slasher or matrix movie? .

it's sad because first two movies (the first in parcticular) are very good, but this is terrible.

my rating is 3/10
