isn't Jason technically a child molester?

since he was about to commit statutory rape with Halle, who is underage.

I don't recall if it's mentioned in the film but if she's playing a senior she could be 18.

It also depends on the state it was set in The Lifeguard was a similar movie but a older women and a teenager but it was a state the age of consent was like 16 that and yea she could have been 18. But yeamf problem with halle being attracted to him he was a rebel and a accomplished writer and I kind of think the teacher convinced her she had a shot with him when she was telling her to stay away from him. But the way she treated the teacher calling her a slut and the like show's what a very immature girl she was. Also daddy issues go a long way.

Regardless of whether you find a twenty-five-year-old man having sex with an eighteen-year-old woman unappealing, it is legal. How did you feel about the same twenty-five-year-old man having sex with the forty-five-year-old teacher?

reply

I think she was meant to be 18. It wasn't clear whether she was a senior or not but either way she's irresistible. She's definitely eye candy in this film. She's very pretty

No. In Pennsylvania the age of consent for sex is 16.

Regardless of age, Halle was barely legal (if at all) and Jason was in a position of power. That's a huge NO-NO that should have gotten him banned from the school, at least.

reply

I don't think there's anything technical about it. Assuming she's younger than 18 and that they had sex, he committed statutory rape – which would be a much bigger scandal than the teacher's fling with him.

reply

There's a huge difference between having sex with a 17 year old and being a child molester.

Proof?

Which of these is worse?

A 19 year old having sex with a 17 year old.

A 40 year old having sex with a 5 year old.
