Why did this movie end up premiering on Lifetime?

I've been waiting for this movie since it was announced. Test audiences must have been unhappy with it because it apparently skipped theaters and went straight to basic cable. I'm watching it right now and so far it's pretty good.

Because they were the only station stupid enough to air it.

I guess they thought it was somewhat of a chick flick.
