Keeping the loot on ice til things cool down.

As an extremely old old-timer, I used the idea of hiding the diamonds in a short story shortly after Jesus was crucified. The baddie boasted to his men that he was keeping the loot on ice until things cooled down. Worse, I think the idea has been used several times since then. Unfortunately, with me being a dumb kid who probably spelled something wrong, Ellery Queen's Mystery Mag. rejected the tale, but sent me an encouraging note. Loose remakes of remakes don't usually make it, and like others, we picked up the title at Redbox because it featured M. Keaton. This probably was a TV movie and/or went straight to DVD. Bad sign.
