I Just Don't Get It?

It's just missing something for me?
I agree with other reviews that compare it to League Of Gentlemen meets Mighty Boosh but the humor just isn't there. Has the kinda feel of a kids tv program that should be broadcast early morning on the CBBC.
Hats off the Sky Atlantic for grabbing this off BBC 3 and for shoving it in a prime time slot.
There needs to be more home grown comedy shown on Sky but when the quality is like this it's obvious why they stick with stuff coming out The U.S
Good luck with everyone involved in 'This Is Jinsy' I think it's great to give something like this a push but it just doesn't compare to the likes of 'Peep Show' 'League Of Gentlemen' 'The Office' 'Extras' and 'Mighty Boosh' and until there's more backing we'll never get anything close to '30 Rock' or 'Arrested Development' but maybe the starting blocks are in place with 'This Is Jinsy' Certainly ambitious and a lot of good british comedic names attached.

So true

I can understand how this type of how can be like marmite, you either love it or hate it; with not much middle ground.

But for me, it's an hilarious, magical world they have created and the laughs are everywhere.

I totally agree. I remember when Monty Python first aired - some people scratched their head and didn't know what they were watching whilst others were getting it from the start and loved it.

Not that I'm comparing Jinsy with Python, you understand.

Jinsy is hit and miss affair but overall I love it - more hit than miss.

I actually referenced Python while trying to describe Jinsy to others, except I think Python was actually more miss than hit overall (we tend to just forget the overly long boring python-esque sketches that failed and recall mainly the classic hits). This Is Jinsy keeps the pacing solid throughout and nothing goes on for so long you're left scratching your head about what they're meant to be doing.

I like the Marmite comparison too. Taste is a very personal matter.

Eeek!!! I'm getting dressed.
