Wonderfully bizzare

I've watched the first couple of episodes now and I love it. The style of comedy is exactly my sort of thing and I'm always laughing when I watch it, hopefully it will be around for a while & hopefully more will watch it.

The pilot show popped up on BBC3 awhile back. I thought it was very good, just my cup of tea too. Clever, original and surreal.

Obviously the Beeb preferred to keep throwing money at the cr@p comedy shows they normally broadcast and they decided not to commission it, which was a shame, selfishly speaking. I don't get Sky.

Looking forward to the eventual dvd and "An Idiot Abroad" too

You might well think that. I couldn't possibly comment

"Looking forward to the eventual dvd"

The DVD is out today (according to Amazon, anyway) which is on my shopping list.

It's a tragedy that the BBC failed to pick this up - it deserves a bigger audience. Definitely cult stuff.

Yep DVD is out today - it's on my Christmas list but not sure if I can wait that long to get my copy! I love the show and I'm so glad that Sky picked it up and commissioned the series. Just hope there's going to be another series (and another and another................).

I'm curious, did they show it on BBC first as a one off and the version on sky is a whole different series after it got picked up or did they just air the old episodes as I heard somewhere that it was on BBC3 as a sort of tester but they only showed one episode.

I can't comment on the Sky series as I haven't seen it.

The pilot was shown on BBC3 as a one-off, supposedly to see what the reaction was to it. I can't speak for the few that watched it at the time, but I thought it was very good.

However, the Beeb obviously preferred to go with their usual sh!te than commission something with more than two ounces of originality.

No change there then.

The series on Sky Atlantic was all new episodes, the pilot wasn't part of it.

I thought that might be the case, moonpig82.

I couldn't see Sky showing a BBC production, they'd just start afresh.

Thanks for the "Heads up" on the dvd, guys

I'll watch out for that

The pilot isn't on the DVD I have. It starts with the wedding lottery episode, so episode one of series one.

Saw the pilot on YouTube earlier, someone's uploaded it. I'd say the quality of EVERYTHING went up when the show moved to Sky!
