Why is this movie so unpopular?

I really liked this movie, and what I find more insulting than the lack of praise for it (ok I'm biased) is the lack of talk about it at all. It seems to have just passed theatres by and gone unnoticed by film enthusiasts/critics. I'd understand if these boards were full of people ranting about how much they didn't like it, but there's a really small amount of posts belittling it or praising it regardless. Was it marketed poorly? I'm not even sure how I heard of it in the first place but I can guarantee it was unconventional. I would hope it becomes a cult classic in the future as I'd hate for a good piece of cinema to just be forgotten with time.

I think the only reason that I was aware is because I follow Mads career. I'm in the U.S. and our small indie/foreign film theatre closed a couple of years ago. I have recommended several of his really great films, i.e. The Hunt, A Royal Affair among others to my friends, but they don't seem interested unless it's a big blockbuster. Certainly their loss, but I wish I could see some of his stuff on the big screen.
