Was the way Emily (Rooney Mara's character) ended up justified? Did she deserve to be in that position?

The movie showed it wasn't just for a psycho doctor, to decide. The prosecutor, the attorney and the police were waiting for her. Basically, everyone deemed it was morally justified.

Yes, it was most definitely deserved. She conspired to murder her husband when she could have just divorced him and found another rich man to marry. I felt NO sympathy for her!
