did marion cottonyarl really lose her legs?

they were not there in the movie so im assuming she no longer has them, yes? good movie btw i loved the fight scenes. so real and macho.

reply

Yeah, she did. It wasn't even meant to be in the film, but the accident happened when they were halfway shooting and the director decided to make the best of a bad situation.

reply

LMAO! Best response ever. Funniest thing I've read all week, thank you.

reply

LOL. Kind of reminds me of a thread on the "Beautiful Mind" board where someone asks about the scene where Russell Crowe leaves his baby unattended in a tub of water, which covered its face.

Someone asked if they really filmed a baby in a tub of water like that. The true answer is that they used CGI: they filmed the baby in an empty tub then added the water later. But someone replied, "yeah, they really did that. Gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet."

Reminds me of a thread in the Thing where someone asked if Mary Elizabeth Winstead survived and I made a response acting like I thought they were asking if they actually froze the actress herself to death.

my goodness thats awful. its a real shame because she had the loveliest ankles.

"Marion Cottonyarl" mutilated herself to get the part. Overachieving bitch.

reply

I know, right?

Plus, she had some real potential for some serious cankles later in life.

reply

Thank God she still has her GLORIOUS tits.

reply

You nailed it with that answer LOOOL

BRAVO!

Didn't she have her legs removed to better understand her character? Kind of like Robert DeNiro gaining weight for Raging Bull? And then when the movie wrapped, she had leg transplants from one of the extras. (Hey, it's not like the extra had any real career to get to...)

reply

I heard the script originally had her lose her arms, but she got her legs removed so they had to rewrite the script.

reply

she got them bitten off by the killer whale. Legs don't grow back which is why she got the metal ones.

reply

she was born this way, man... she is legless but she had ben using those prosthetic legs.. so this movie was perfect for her.. actually the script writer wrote this film behalf of her. Later that year, the writer-director married her.. she has 2 beautiful daugthers with fully legged.

reply

Yes, but Marian didn't know they were actually gonna chop her legs off. She successfully sued them for psychotic behaviour and got a double leg transplant when production was over.
