Far-fetched?
Initially, though I love this film beyond everything that is rational, I thought what happened to Steph was a bit far-fetched. However, I then watched Blackfish. Couldn't believe my eyes/ears!
share Not all that far-fetched after all, orcas don't seem to like being held captive for our amusement. There are very few recorded attacks in the wild and the one I could find of a surfer claiming to have been actually bitten is lacking in proof. In captivity, however, the number is staggering.

I went to the Vancouver aquarium at age 15 and am still left with the impression that these intelligent animals are capable of intentional malice. I am by no means an animal activist but zoos, circuses, and aquariums depress the hell out of me.
Agreed this was a wonderful movie though, gave it an 8.
