Revenge for watching Revenge for Jolly! (2013)

This movie isn't funny or sad or clever. WTF was the point? This isn't even a dark comedy or a good action movie.

I admit that I watched it cause the premise was kinda funny. A guy going on revenge over his dog? Perfect material for dark comedy. Then I saw the movie..

I am just surprised how they managed to get high profile actors to do a cameo here and there. Did the director film them all doing drugs? Blackmail? I am guessing these actors do cameos in such movies cause it is fun (like a quick side project here and there). It definitely wasn't the excellent script.

It certainly is not even a dark comedy.

The point was to get revenge for Jolly being killed. It's an animal rights film. Any actor with a love of dogs would see the point.

I put off watching this movie for a long time. I knew a dog would be killed. That's very sad. I love my dogs as much as he loved Jolly.

Each location is symbolic of the shallow selfishness of humans compared to the true bond of love between him and Jolly. The scene with the bartender is symbolic of some people in society. The bartender says we're friends.

No, you work in a bar, he's a customer. It points the spotlight at meaningless human interactions. It shows a reaction of pure instinct when he shoots the bartender while his friend who is labelled as not right in the head by society stands by him. It's poetry. The whole film is filled with it. Lot's of it is all in the moment, like a dog experiences a lot of things, with outward and honest pure emotion and behaviour.

So what you're saying is that this movie says it's OK to murder human beings because of someone's stupid dead dog?

If this movie is about "animal rights", then it's even more retarded.

This movie was great. You gave Mad Max: Fury Road a 5. I mean, what? You must have no idea who the director, lead, and writer are, huh? You gave Inglorious Basterds a 6? For God's sake man you rated THE SHINING a 3/10?! I mean, what!? 2001: A Space Odyssey a 5/10? You're delusional man.

I see overhyped movies because of hype and then my rating depends on the movie + if I will ever re-watch it.

If I re-watch it, then the movie has staying power and I rate it up. If even after one viewing I never feel like watching that movie again, then I rate it low.

Add that to the rating for the quality of movie itself.

For example, my rating for Space Odyssey is purely based on its presentation, set design, etc. I found rest of the movie boring as *beep*, put me to sleep over and over. Nothing interesting going on, not clever, meh.

And Shining is just a shining turd. I am not sure why I gave it 3 even. Probably cause of old woman in tub scene.. which made me laugh like crazy.

Same goes for other movies, rating based on many factors. Not based on hype.
