Why do men in movies...

... think taking the family out in the woods will bring them closer together? Especially when it is blatantly obvious NO ONE wants to go??

Is it the "Tommy Syndrome"? What cured me\worked for me will work for you? "I bonded with my dad on camping trips to this place so then I'll take my fractured family (never sure what they were fractured over - Mia being his new wife? If so then who is Oscar's dad? Her other husband or Moyers character and if the latter then why the resentment still from the older daughter?? It just isn't defined as to why he felt a camping trip was "the thing to fix" their issues. Unless all he really wanted to do was scatter Dad's ashes and confront the Devil) out in the same woods and we'll bond and be all happy and joyous??"

And as in so many movies past, of course no one bonds except in the bonds of death.

I agree. I'm going to try to make sure not to do that with my kid. Unless of course they don't want to go to Disneyland. If that's the case then "There's something wrong with you, we're going!" Lol.
