Sermon that is contradictory and wears its European roots on its face.

Woah. I watched this in a cinema and thought I'd clicked on a you tube video. Ramblings. Monotone essay. Therefore. If. And. But. Waste of time but my friend wanted to see it to the end. Felt soiled. No mention of the illuminati though.

Just curious, saw you posted a couple times with the word "contradictory" in it. What do you think was contradicting about it?

reply

We are 'parts' then we are 'together'. Are we parts or together? We are animals but we shouldn't eat each other or fight each other, just as animals do. We are using four of the earths resources a day! How are we still here?

reply

What is wrong is there is no substantiated argument. I'd be happy to hear it.

reply

Perhaps, you are trying to be a little too clever for your own good?

What is wrong with the message in this documentary? I'd be interested to know.

reply

What exactly is the message? Being vegans will stop war? We are all one? We need to look to animals for guidance? We need to evolve to a higher level instead of being primitive? 'The message' itself is a bunch of them, really just "be vegan like herbivores and somehow evolve to not fight"... Is that it? Why?

reply

I can't explain how much I hated this film.

reply

Neither can I. How terrible.

Humans are a part of Nature-yes-the same way an A bomb is.

Toxic waste is a part of Nature too but that doesnt mean it is good.
Other species kill for survival or survival related reasons. I.e. lynx observed hunting without eating their kill (I havent seen it myself but I have heard it).
Why do this? Because--lynx have to hunt their food or they die-thus they need to practice.

Secondly, morality is a human invention--we have morals because without them humans are totally psychotic (unlike other species which are totally rational. Even a fruit fly knows by instinct to wash itself-not so with humans).
But morality has to be fair-thus humans must take other species into consideration--if they dont-they are guilty of a double standard.
The history of human violence is that of systemic exploitation (for money usually) being defended by some irrational claim of superiority. Slavery was defended by it, abuse of women and children (btw-some try to disparage social progress by saying its a white european thing-but the fact is that most progress for the vulnerable-women and children and nonhuman animals--has come from western society. Consider China and its shocking abuses--Chinese orphanages for example).

Exploitation of other species--the same thing.
Difference between a human and a lion is that the lion is born to kill for survival (even has barbs on the tongue to slip flesh) but humans need tools. They cannot kill anything other than insects without tools. But they use tools for different things--killing not only other species but massive numbers of their own.
Now, what wild predator animal does the same?
None.
So yes humans are a part of Nature but something is very very wrong in human development. Dont ask me why-I havent a clue.

Two quotes I have rather fond of. One by Leonardo da Vinci:
"Animals will be seen on the earth who will always be fighting against each other with the greatest loss and frequent deaths on each side. And there will be no end to their malignity; by their strong limbs we shall see a great portion of the trees of the vast forests laid low throughout the universe; and, when they are filled with food the satisfaction of their desires will be to deal death and grief and labour and wars and fury to every living thing; and from their immoderate pride they will desire to rise towards heaven, but the too great weight of their limbs will keep them down. Nothing will remain on earth, or under the earth or in the waters which will not be persecuted, disturbed and spoiled, and those of one country removed into another. And their bodies will become the sepulture and means of transit of all they have killed. O Earth! why dost thou not open and engulf them in the fissures of thy vast abyss and caverns, and no longer display in the sight of heaven such a cruel and horrible monster." (Leonardo Da Vinci [1452-1519], Prophecies, "Of the Cruelty of Man")

The other, Mark Twain:
"Man is the Reasoning Animal. Such is the claim. I think it is open to dispute. Indeed, my experiments have proven to me that he is the Unreasoning Animal. Note his history, as sketched above. It seems plain to me that whatever he is he is not a reasoning animal. His record is the fantastic record of a maniac. I consider that the strongest count against his intelligence is the fact that with that record back of him he blandly sets himself up as the head animal of the lot: whereas by his own standards he is the bottom one."

Humans are seriously seriously *beep* up.
Even the Lawgiver's scroll in Planet of the Apes 1968 zeroed in on it.
