This movie should have won best song at the Oscars. Period.

You will probably disagree. That's the nature of discussions -- they have two sides.

AGREED!!!!! I sobbed all the way through Tim singing this last night. I felt bad when it lost best song to "Glory". I'll bet many Academy winners have never heard this heart-wrenching song performed.

reply

I was very disappointed this song didn't win, I thought it was a beautiful song and was far better than any of the other songs nominated. Its also the last song we'll ever have from Glen Campbell.

Amen! What other song could have torn people's hearts out with such utter simplicity as that one?

This beautiful, almost heart breaking song should have won. I had tears in my eyes at the end when Glen was recording it. I don't know if it is eligible for any other nominations.

reply

The Academy members often don't even see the movies nominated for Best Picture, so it's hardly surprising they didn't bother listening to Glen's last song. It was poignant and lovely.

reply

Agreed

reply

I thought so too.
(ps: The actual song that won, as I recall, was from Selma)
Anyhow, TIM MCGRAW did an outstanding job singing "I'm not gonna Miss you",---probably the BEST rendition of that song I've ever heard!
Brought tears to people's faces!

Completely agree, but I pretty much always disagree with the Oscars' choice for best song – as well as many of the other categories.

reply

I likewise concur. It's an incredibly poignant and powerful song.
