My first memory of country music

That's where my love for country music started back n 69

My real introduction to country music came from, "I am a lineman for the county, and I drive the main road . . . " when Campbell's music crossed over to the Pop stations. So haunting. So lovely.

Wonderful to see so many people reach out to him as his career began to wind down. Speaks to the lives he touched in such a beautiful way.

I remember watching his variety show as a kid. It was wonderful - right up there with Andy Williams. I also know why my mom liked it so much. I didn't realize it then, but Glen was quite a looker back in the day. He actually still looked pretty great for a man in his 70's in this documentary. That is part of what makes the documentary so upsetting - that a man that still is quite attractive, masculine, talented and wickedly humorous, can not remember who is President or where the bathroom is in is own house.
