HUGE dissapointment (season 2)

I was waiting for season 2 since the first one ended. Waiting like it was going to be the second coming of Christ. This is all gonna be spoilers, so if you haven't seen S2 don't read the rest of this post.

Initially after the first few episodes I thought it'd get better, but it just kept getting worse, when they killed off Conte, and then Rosario, and then O'Trak. Were they trying to imitate Game of Thrones with it's idiotic shock value character deaths? Honestly, all 3 of those characters had great potential, that was thrown out the window for no reason.

Everything else that's wrong:
- overall wasted potential, script going nowhere in all the different directions
- the conflict between Ciro and Genny is swiped under the rug just like that
- Don Pietro is some unrealistic anime mastermind
- Ciro moping around wasn't very convincing (they should have just left his wife out of this, till they hit his daughter)
- Ciro suddenly being merciful to Angelo or what's his name (remember when he shot up a car dealership, tortured and burned an innocent girl and ruined a young boy's life in season 1?)
- Annalisa son's wife - what was even the point? (could lead to a police investigation in S3, but annoying filler in S2)
- Patrizia wasn't very convincing to me either, the only scene I liked her in was when they caught her brother
- Genny didn't do anything interesting the whole season and probably had less screentime than most of the useless female characters
- Genny's dip$hit friends are suddenly alive, end up being the most interesting part of the season and then the most charismatic of the bunch gets killed
- music isn't used as well as in season 1

I feel like this whole season was just a bad attempt to reset the whole feud between Ciro and Genny. This would mean that the whole series is either gonna focus on their rivalry or them working together, but how can I follow any of that, when Genny doesn't even mind his parents getting killed? Then there's Ciro, who's already lost everything he had. The only realistic thing left for him to do is to rat everyone out and die. Why would Genny even keep him alive? It makes no sense. This season was screwed up in ways I wouldn't even imagine. I'm not looking forward to new episodes anymore. Not sure if I can ever be excited for something again.

Season 1: 8,5/10
Season 2: 4,5/10

I thought it dragged a bit and could have been better but I still enjoyed it. Not as much as Season 1 though. They were trying too hard to be dark and moody which made things way too bleak. A little bit of levity here and there for balance would have been nice.

Ciro raised Genny more so than his parents did.

Wow, I couldn't agree LESS with what you wrote. I could provide arguments for why all of that was AWESOME, but I'm afraid you couldn't see quality if it bit you

My ratings are not always like the IMDB average score because I only enjoy intelligent movies.
