Like a Movie from another planet

Never has a director been more auter about his point. This movie that is about changing everyone around you rather than adapting to your environment. I mean let's forget for a moment that this is a preaching to the choir movie, and not forget that this is not how anyone couple would actually come together. When Rik takes her on a date its as if she is taking a test to meet his expectations. Its an awful lot of pressure on someone to quiz them constantly, especially on a first date. Rik is so one sided about this that it would exhaust any woman he gave a chance to. Does anyone need the 3rd degree about so many personal questions? Is having conversation with someone really not ok? Maybe pass those questions out over time. If Rik is insistent on meeting a women with Christian values, try Christianmingle.com. If this movie were based on real people, she would have thought Rik was super creepy and avoid him forever. Most attractive women would also lose interest because Rik requires too much patience for the average person.

A side note, if a woman is coming from an abusive situation she would not likely be into this guy. He comes across as brotherly, friend material. Let's not forget he isn't the most sympathetic of characters---he's sort of a narcissist.

"Christian values" - that's the crux of the issue.
Rik's idea of Christian values are very different than most people's idea of them, including Jesus. You are more likely to find someone with Christian values on a regular dating site, even if they are atheist, than at ChristianMingle. ChristianMingle might be a good place to find someone with his crazy ideas though. Although even then, it would be difficult, because his particular brand of crazy is unusual even for fundamentalists.
