PG-13
Can anyone tell me why this is PG-13? Is there cussing or sex?
There is no swearing in it but there are scenes that suggest inappropriate things are about to happen either on screen or audibly ....but they get stopped and that's great. ...particularly in one scene at a bachelor party. I could not have loved Clay more in that scene...well actually there were a few scenes where I couldn't have loved Clay more. What a great man. I would never care for the kind of man that he used to be before finding God, but knowing that he truly regrets his past actions, makes him wonderul.
shareThank you ! We don't allow our 13 y/o to watch PG-13 because of the sex, swearing and violence. I wanted to take her to see this, but I will wait. My 19 y/o son would love it.
shareMeanwhile, people who aren't fundy whackjobs looked at that scene and said, "huh, the bouncer and the stripper are the ones making the most sense here, and acting like real human beings". But of course, the movie wants you to side with the deranged control freak who was, is, and always will be an abusive sexual predator, Clay.

Clay was an *beep* to one of his best friends, at the dude's bachelor party, and immediately followed up by being an *beep* to his only other friend. The only way Clay could've been justified there would have been by the film implying that the stripper was going to take him into a private room and blow him or something. Instead, he simply stops her mid-lapdance, tells his friend "it's not worth it", and sends the stripper away.
Any other situation not written by Rik Swartzwelder, and 90% of the guys in the room would've said "it's his bachelor party; get the *beep* outta here." Clay basically jizzed his morals all over everyone there, and refused to apologize for being such a twat.
"Oh, but he wanted them to respect that woman!" You mean the way he did, by not giving a *beep* that she lost out on hundreds of dollars in tips because of him? If a dude did anything 1/10 similarly to me, friendship over.
