They could have done more but it's not too bad. It just feels like a long-winded riddle with a pretty unsatisfying conclusion.

shareI'd have to disagree with the similarity to The Butterfly Effect. From memory, the other film is about a man with a special power to jump back in time to moments in photos, and he uses it over and over to try and correct the effects on the future his jump(s) cause. It's a good film and the acting should not be taken seriously.
This 2013 film has quite a different approach to time travel, more of a slow pace and focus on the people left behind by someone who jumps.
