Erol went to past to bring his father back,he killed the adult Erol so he could live the child Erol life. Markika had died in past, how could she come back to life now?
When you alter one reality, then it should alter the other reality too.
Once Erol failed to return to his timeline, it went on without him. Gabe returned to his own timeline, which now forks in a new direction, in which he raises his own family.
You can't treat treat all timelines as one.
