6.1 is extraordinarily generous

In fact, I'm slightly shocked at anything that high or higher. What science there is, is utterly erroneous - and the mathematics are simply, essentially nonsensical. This coming from someone with a background in both. Okay, so you say that's alright and we simply need to suspend scientific belief in order to enjoy a good human drama? Welp, the human drama was predictable, the acting was mediocre at best, the story was barely coherent. Oh and yeah, if you're going to make a movie that employs this subject matter, but ask your audience to suspend belief as to the accuracy of your scientific facts then you should just leave them out, not invent some string of nonsense that doesn't even gel in theory. Plenty of sci-fi has worked as fantasy while skipping the science. They should have done that here, and perhaps used the energy they spent on inventing nonsense math and science to develop the rest of the story a whole lot better.

I'd give it a 4.5 at most - and that's only because Gillian Anderson was her usual solid.

But what do I know. I'm just a girl.
