Script changes...

Lifetime's website has the following plot description, which does not quite match the finished film:

When 17-year-old Casey Benson, new to Los Angeles, starts to make friends with some of the beautiful, popular cheerleaders at her school, her mother Holly is pleased. Casey seems happy but when her attitude and behavior begins to change, Holly is alarmed. Becoming increasingly estranged, Holly hired P.I. Sue Ann to sort things out. Casey and her cheerleading friend are spending their evenings dating wealthy older men.
In the finished film Casey is 18-years-old, and there was no P.I.

There are ALOT of mistakes in that plot description. That doesn't even sound like the same movie! The dad mentioned something about paying for their house for 20 years, so it doesn't seem like she was new to LA. There was never any indication that the friends were cheerleaders, just the cool girls of the school--and there were three of them, not just one. And Holly is never pleased when she makes these friends--she doesn't even know. And yeah, there was no PI named Sue Ann!

The on-screen writing credits read "Christine Conradt and Doug Campbell & Ken Sanders," so maybe the online synopsis was written from Conradt's final draft before Campbell and Sanders revised it.

The original script sounds better...

Not to me. Not at all.
