Guy just slapped her back one single time after she hit him and then immediately apologized.
Grabbing her arm to stop her is not "beating your wife". Especially ridiculous to call the cops after being married 20 years without this kind of thing happening. The Mom as a whole came off as a naggy drama queen in this one.
I agree that she she should not have called the cops. The mom was really scared and it seems she was trying her best to assert herself without getting hurt.
Another thing, I am a fan of Jamie Luner, but I don't think she acted her best in this one, probably because of the material they gave her. She was far better in Melrose Place and other projects she's done. In this movie, it feels that her acting was the way it was because of the script.

But it's perfectly ok for a woman to hit a man? And I'm a woman. If both of them hit each other, they both should go to jail. My husband's ex-wife pulled this crap many times where she was just an abusive psycho but if my husband grabbed her arm to stop from getting punched, she would call the cops on him. Luckily they knew what a nut she was and never took her seriously or hauled my husband in. It's NOT ok for a woman to start sh** either and then cry foul when they get what they were trying to do back to them.

Grabbing someone's arm tightly and not letting go when they say stop is a threat to harm and if to get out of his grip she had to use force she was just doing self defense. I don't know if I would be strong enough to call the cops but I hope I would be.
