Let me say you won't find a much bigger fan of Coen movies. I even liked 'A Serious Man' by them. But this is first time I just couldn't get thru it. It had no appeal to me and didn't have those trademark idiosyncrasy that we have learned to love. I think they redeem themselves in big way with Hail, Caesar! (coming out in 2016).

That means we have very different views on this movie, but it supports your notion that it's a horse of a very different colour to their usual fare.
Ugh, A Serious Man? I can't decide which movie is worse. And frankly, I've got better things to do then to ponder that conundrum.

I almost shot myself trying getting through "No Country for Old Men".
