Only know this from watching on a plane. I didn't watch out of choice!

He returns the 'talent' back to K.Durant by working out that he has to hit the mascot in the head with the ball (as he did previously when taking the half time shot) before handing the ball to Durant and saying 'i wish i had your talent'. it works, Durant has a blinding second half and the kid has to play in his state championship game (talentless) but everyone is relying on him. They play an awful game but pull together with a rousing half time speech about playing with all your heart and low and behold to game is tied with 3 seconds on the clock and the ball falls to the kid (who is again terrible at basketball)slow motion - face - clock - face - clock - shoots - hits the rim - drops in. Awful team win the state championship.

I never saw it coming!!!!!!

That's not cool to spoil the ending of a .... deep mystery drama!

Plus then the kid meets up with KD at the gym and says he's been working hard and is starting to improve.
They shoot around a bit and the kid hits a nice 3 point shot.

"They who... give up... liberty to obtain... safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

One thing you missed in the summary was that the other reason the team started doing better in the second half was because Brian started applying all of the lessons he'd learned as Team Manager (and no doubt from hours of watching hours of professional games) and providing actual leadership to the team. When you consider what a nincompoop the head coach is (his assistant coach is a bit better), the team had probably been getting by on sheer talent and athleticism previously. Now, they have that and someone telling them how to be most effective with their skills. Add to that, Brian came up on the 3-point opportunity with 10 seconds left and made the sensible decision to pass the ball to a more talented member instead. It's only when he scoops up the blocked shot that he tries for lack of better options.

What happens at the end? Kevin Durant shamelessly promotes his KDIV shoe brand, revealing himself to be a complete whore for the marketing and advertising industry. This wasn't a movie. It was a long commercial for the NBA and for Kevin Durant personally. Total POS.
